Today was an important day. They took the surgical drain out and started me on food... if you call Jello food. I feel nauseous when I eat. I would like someone to shoot me, but no takers to date. Tomorrow will be better!
The surgeon said I will not be getting out until at least Monday...
And so it goes.
Oh... Margaret Hartley gets the angel of the month award. I'm too tired to tell y'all why..... it would take forever to list all the reasons!!!!
Hugs,
Jennie

Jennie, I'm thrilled that Little Suzie woke up at last! Nine days of stunned sleep was exactly the time she needed to recover, and jello is the kiss of the prince who woke her! Finally the exit door at UNC hospital must seem like more of a reality. Tell me when you're ready for clear, home-made chicken broth! Grandma's healing recipe awaits you any time you say.
ReplyDeleteJen, I enjoyed our day together. You're incredibly brave and on-the-ball through all of this, and I can't even imagine how you've kept your sense of humor. I hope you'll be outta there Monday. Let us know when you're ready for company, in the hopsital or afterwards. Love and gentle hugs to you! Cosi 919-812-9275 (cell)
Great news! The Jello day/s have arrived! Things are really sounding good.

Hey Cuz,
ReplyDeleteI was finally able to get to your "clog"....via "blog":-)
So glad the surgery went well and "Little Suzy" is rocking on. I bet the u-tube thing shook it some. I see you your sense of humor is still priceless. Keep it going. I'm glad Dale and his daughter are keeping an eye on you.....Someone definitely needs to.....for more reasons than your surgery*grin*. From the blog comments, I can see you have some very dear true friends. Your very blessed!! Keep up the blog on your recovery. Your family is tuning in.
Love you,
Shirley
Hey Jennie,
ReplyDeleteFinally found you! Been keeping you in our prayers. Glad there is no more cancer! Wish we were close enough to help you out, but are very glad you have such wonderful friends! Hope your out & home soon!
Love,
Tommy & Debbie (DeLoach)
Jennie, I have just logged on to your blog...and pleased to read about all the support you have! And you know you have mine. I like to think of myself as your mentor. I do hope that you were able to use many of the things we spoke about on the phone. I am so glad that Ginny put you in touch with me! I am proof that there is life after an ileostomy. Remember, you WILL feel better tomorrow and the day after and the day after that! As my kids used to say to me (in my own words to them) "This is just a little speed bump in the road of life."
ReplyDeleteAnd thank you for your very "sweet" gift to me...totally unnecessary, but appreciated all the same. You discovered my weakness. I will stay in touch, you can bet on that. And if you have any more questions, no matter how silly they may seem to you, please don't hesitate call me!
You are in my thoughts and prayers.
Jane
Still thinking about ya'. I hear you are progressing beyond jello, so I hope to see you outside the hospital soon.
